1981 LegacyThe most well-established male high performance club in Alberta. Torpedoes Water Polo Club started it's inception by the founders John Csikos and Gord Graham. With their vision and passion of water polo they have assisted with the development/growth of this niche sport in Alberta.
National Level Coaching
Torpedoes prides itself in developing elite athletes and to accomplish this the Club provides a coaching team with National Team experience and are NCCP Certified. In order to ensure a high performance level, we provide two coaches in attendance at games and one on one goalie coaching.
World Class Facilities
Calgary Torpedoes is able to offer all programming at MNP Community & Sports Centre, a premium location for water polo athletes with its competitive sized pool that offers a deep water training environment and 3433 dryland personal training program. Calgary Torpedoes is recognized as a ``Compete`` Sports Partner with MNP Community & Sports Centre which means that we are Club Excellence certified Level 1 and meet the strict protocols for Club Management, Player Development and safety.
High Performance Training
Torpedoes Water Polo aligns its training program with Water Polo Canada's Excellence Stream. This ensures athletes receive the training hours required in and out of the pool to ensure maximum athlete development. The Torpedoes Club participates in the National Championship League (NCL) allowing athletes to travel within Canada and compete against the same high integrity aged teams across the country.
100% National Championship League (NCL) Focus
The Torpedoes Water Polo Club focuses solely on male high performance development in the age groups that align with participating in the NCL program. Competing in the 15U, 17U, 19U and Men's Major League allows athletes an opportunity to increase their skill and game development through a lengthy water polo sporting career.
